Some call them support circles, speaking circles, other empowerment circles, or simply a place to be heard and seen and speak one’s truth. There is no talk back or fixing or opinion given when one shares their truth.
Such circles have been held for centuries in all communities around the globe for a variety of purposes. Today, we are simply supporting each other in the middle of a new crisis. Thanks to Zoom we can do that online and see and feel each other each other.
I have sat in and/or led circles, ceremonies, workshops since 1994. My goal is to offer a safe space for those who want to share how they are feeling at the moment. Depending on how many join each gathering we may have a lot of time to share or a short time. Some may want to join and be silent others will want to share. I will be the moderator and will chime in at times and my intention is really for everyone to feel heard and seen.
For the time being I will offer a weekly Support Circle every Thursday from 5 to 6:30pm EST
